Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is remodeling of the nose. Surgery of the nose can reduce the size, remove bumps, curves, or ridges, lower the bridge, and contour the tip. Although there is not an age limit for this procedure, the earliest recommended age is mid-teens, a time when the nose is near full development. Rhinoplasty may also improve the airway and breathing.

The Procedure

information-pink

Nasal surgery can be performed as an outpatient procedure. It is usually performed under general anesthetic. Reshaping of the cartilage and bone is generally performed through incisions inside the nose. The skin and soft tissue then “redrape” over the new “scaffolding.” Adjustments to the nasal airway can be made at the same time for breathing problems.
