These substances are injected into areas to help plump the skin from underneath. Some of the Dermal Fillers used by Dr. Francel are:
Introducing Sculptra Aesthetic. Not an overnight miracle. Long lasting. Not a quick-fix. The first facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time.
New JUVÉDERM® XC is the smooth gel filler that your doctor uses to instantly smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose.
RADIESSE® wrinkle filler does more than just “fill-in” lines and facial wrinkles – it replenishes volume and stimulates the production of your own natural collagen with results that last up to a year or more.
If you want a long lasting filler that you can have confidence in, then you are ready for Artefill®. A simple, in-office procedure that stands the test of time is all that is required.
Belotero® is a hyaluronic acid gel injection that temporarily smooths out moderately deep facial folds and fine skin wrinkles. It is the shortest acting injectable material.
Restylane® is a non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid gel injection used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. May also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years old.
Where are Dermal Fillers commonly used?
- Eyes (fill in hollows and reduce dark circles)
- Nose
- Nasolabial folds
- Cheeks/mid-face
- Lips
What is the Procedure?
Dr. Francel may administer topical anesthetic cream in order to numb the area being treated. Using a fine needle, the filler is injected into the dermis at different points in the treatment area. Dr. Francel will massage the area and continue injecting filler until the correct amount of filler has been injected. Patients may experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising at the injection site after the treatment.
How long will the Dermal Filler last?
The life of the filler depends on type of filler used.
What is the difference between BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dermal Fillers?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is used on wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements. These wrinkles are most often found between the brows, around the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet) and on the forehead. Dermal Fillers are used to plump up areas that have broken down from a loss of collagen-such as hollows under the eyes, cheeks, lips, and nasolabial folds. Some Dermal Fillers work better in some areas than in others. Dr. Francel will advise you on the best Dermal Filler for your particular area of interest.
